The Volunteering Process

All parents of children involved in Little League Baseball and Softball are strongly encouraged to volunteer.  Parents will be prompted to volunteer as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, General Volunteer, or Umpire during the program registration process each season.  Returning volunteers need to express interest and complete the background check each year.

Our local league relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly.  We are always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate Little League events and activities.  As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children.

If you are interested in volunteering for Central Vermont Little League, please contact a league representative via email at [email protected] and a volunteer with get back to you with next steps.

Please note that Little League International requires all leagues in the United States to conduct background checks that utilize JD Palatine (JDP), or another provider that is comparable to JDP in accessing background check records for sex offender registry data and criminal records.  Little League Child Protection Program

Central Vermont Little League utilizes the JDP QuickApp, which Little League recommends.  JDP QuickApp allows local league volunteers to complete their own volunteer application and background check on a secure site separate from the player registration process.  You will not need to provide your Social Security Number to a league administrator during this process--you will enter this information directly during the JDP QuickApp process.
